You have decided to make the switch and move your fleet over to electric vehicles, so now the big question is how do you go about getting a charging point installed so that the cars can be charged while your staff are working? This is where we can help.

The first thing you need to do is obtain a grant from OLEV (Office for Low Emissions Vehicles) who issue a voucher for a contribution of up to 75% of the costs of your workplace charging point, capped at £500 each. The grant allows a single company to have a maximum of 20 charging points installed, which can offer you a saving of £10,000. In order to obtain this grant, you’ll need to fill out the application form that can be found here. Once approved, the voucher code will only be valid for four months.

Once you have received the approval of your grant, we will carry out a risk assessment, method statement and an environmental risk assessment on the area. This is to confirm the installation can be carried out safely and the impact that the install of an electric vehicle charging point will have on the surrounding area can be kept to a minimum. It is at this point that we will advise you on the timescales and duration of the project as these will depend on the project size.

The next step is the installation of the charging point. We will carry out the installation using approved, qualified and trained electricians and engineers. The installation is tested and NICEIC (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting) certified. It is also carried out to BS 7671 standards.  The system is also commissioned with a full demonstration of how to use it and is ready to use straight away.

We will claim the grant on your behalf, with you just needing to pay the balance. Each charging point comes with a 12 month warranty where we are available throughout this period for any maintenance you may require. After the first 12 months, we offer maintenance packages for you so that you are safe in the knowledge that your charging points are well looked after.

So now you know what is involved, get in touch and we will help you get the process started.
